Veterans

At PHC Inc., we consider our veterans as part of our family and vice versa, as our founder, a wartime vet, remains an integral part of this community. We pay homage to our veterans and their dependents for their sacrifice and service to the nation. Unfortunately, too many veterans, even in their waning years, are unaware of the many benefits they have earned, which are readily available to them; this does not fall short of home care. PHC Inc. has partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other private organizations to readily assess, validate, and approve qualified veterans for home health care benefits. For Veterans who served during periods of war we can assist you in receiving immediate funds that will enable you to start receiving care, and alleviate the several months of wait for VA processing. Please contact us today to learn how we can help you.

Veterans Aid & Attendance Program:

Long Term Care Can Be the Greatest Crisis People of all Ages Will Face

imageMany veterans are not aware of the eldercare benefits available through veterans health care. One particular VA program is called Veterans Pension or more commonly known as “Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit”. Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit can provide 15 to 20 hours a week of personal care services for veterans and their surviving spouses.

How Do I Qualify for up to 20 hrs of free care per week?

Pension is for any veteran, age 65 and older who served during a period of war. The Veteran must have an honorable discharge, meet income requirements, and need assistance with activities of daily living in their chosen place of residence. A lesser Pension benefit is also available to the single surviving spouse of a veteran who served during a period of war. “The VA Pension can provide 15 to 20 hours of personal care per week!”

Home Base Primary Care Program:

imageSkilled Home Health is short-term health care services that can be provided to Veterans if they are homebound, or live far away from VA Health Care Facility. The care is delivered by a community-based home health agency that has a contract with VA.

The program is for Veterans who need skilled services, case management and help with activities of daily living. Examples include help with bathing, dressing, fixing meals or taking medicines. This program is also for Veterans who are isolated or their caregiver is experiencing burden.
Skilled Home Health Care can be used in combination with other Home and Community Based Services.

Veterans Choice Program (VCP):

Veterans Choice Program (VCP) provides primary care, inpatient and outpatient specialty care (including In-home care), and mental health care for eligible Veterans when the local U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care facility cannot provide the services due to:

  • lack of available specialists.
  • long wait times.
  • extraordinary distance from the Veteran’s home.

While millions of Veterans will receive a Choice Card, only a subset of those who hold the card will be eligible to use it at any given time. Verification of eligibility in the form of an authorization from Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS) is required for reimbursement of costs associated with care provided to a Veteran. To our prior service men, women, and their dependents who have answered the call of duty, we take immense pride in going the extra mile to assist you in acquiring these and other benefits.
